you want to sell anything and everything you get in your hands, well that can seem a quite difficult task but today in this blog I am going to tell you about the basics of manipulation marketing that what methods do big companies use to sell even the shittiest products at good prices.

Before starting about manipulation marketing let me describe what manipulation marketing means.

In layman’s language manipulation marketing is a way to manipulate someone to do a certain task. Also, you might be thinking that which companies do really use manipulation marketing and do these tactics really work.

So, here is the list of 10 companies that use manipulation marketing:-

  1. Facebook – 2.23 billion users

  2. Twitter – 335 million monthly visits

  3. Instagram – 1 billion monthly users

  4. Gambling Machines – Depends

  5. Nike – 25 pairs of shoes sold every second

  6. Apple – Sold 76 million iPhones.

  7. Zappos – 1 billion in revenue

  8. Amazon – 150 billion founder’s net worth

  9. PayPal – 244 million users

  10. WhatsApp – more than 1.5 billion monthly users

So, what areas of marketing does manipulation marketing includes?

Well, it holds a good portion of it let’s have a look at all of them:-

  • Scarcity – Creating scarcity is a great method to attract new users and to gain more engagement of old users. In this, the company usually shows some product or thing that is either a limited edition one or it is on sale. By this way, the user thinks it may lose the product or sale due to that it tries it. If you are thinking that why it works always it is because fear is a dominant feeling and it can easily manipulate us to do something.

  • Endless Content – In this goal-oriented generation millennials want to get everything done due to that you think you can complete that Facebook or Twitter feed which practically is never going to end and due to that you start to engage more on their platforms which leads to profits because these platforms are viewer retention platforms what I mean by this is that these platforms get paid on the basis of amount of time you spend on their platforms.

  • Colors –This piece of marketing is so important that it can either boost your sales or ruin it. Ever thought why most of the successful apps and website and apps use colors like Blue, green or some other. It is because these colors give a sense of relaxation to our mind and there is a whole physiological study of colors that how they manipulate our mind.

  • Reward – Different brands use different types of reward system the simplest one is used by Twitter and it is the refresh option in twitter feed which usually gives latest tweets which acts as a reward system what it does is that it keeps you engaged on that platform. Also, PayPal uses to refer and earn method which is a direct reward system because you get a reward for doing nothing. What all these reward systems do is that they release dopamine in your brain which makes you feel happy.

  • Conversion Into Luxury – Well this method is usually adopted by big brands because it requires a huge pile of cash. In this Brands like Apple and Nike make a video with a famous person recording him while playing or doing something else and at that time he or she will be using their product which results in a spike in their sales because it gives a feeling to user that they can afford something that only rich and ultra-successful people can afford.

Well, enough of manipulation marketing now we should come to the real question that how can we use manipulation marketing to sell our products or services?

Well that’s very easy

  1. Make sure what your product is all about.

  2. Then add something manipulative into it that can be anything. (use above method if not make your own)

  3. Sell, Scare, and Sell.

If you think that I need to add something more do it please tell me in the comments I would love to hear from you.
